Jeff Gordon # 24 "Hobby Grade" Rc car. (above)
Note the "Motorworks" Logo Lower left corner of the front of the box
2 NEW different Hobby Grade boxes!!! This Jeff Gordon # 24 "Hobby Grade" Rc car box picture has slight printing varations. (3 pictures below) On the "Front Runners" boxes You should note that the words "Front Runners" are on the lower right corner.
On the "Front Runners" boxes...the top right corner will say "Race up to 6 cars or Race up to 6 drivers at a time"
Heres even NEWER "Front Runners" box photos !!!
Also on the "Front Runners" boxes...the frequency chips are NOT in the car chassis and controller but are located newar the controller in the box when shipped.
The back panels, "Hobby Grade" versions will completely different, also "First Edition Base Versons" will show the Foam Padded Chassis as where the "Second Edition Base Versions." will be a full plastic chassis, similar to the "Hobby Grade" chassis, but with their own unique differences.
NEW and different Hobby Grade cars!!!
4th Generation Version !!!
November, 24th 2007
I purchased the new paint scheme of Jeff Gordon Hobby Grade Nascar Rc car. Purchased at Lowes Home Improvement. Here below shows the new box. The new paint scheme car itself with the First Edition Hobby Grade also shown below.
Other than the obvious printed box and body paint scheme changes theres alot to view of the New Jeff Gordon Nascar Rc car.
The new paint scheme Hobby Grade car on the top.
First Edition Hobby Grade on the bottom.
Note the rear decklids - fenders on the new car. SHORTER from the pins to the spoiler. Rear of the body has been shortened and fits well inside of the chassis lip. Apparently to save on body shell damage. Spoiler is a tic higher also. Several sponsor changes. NEW paint looks great. Gas "cap" on the First Edition and none on the newer body style. The gas filler area on the New Jeff Gordon car is sunken in like the real race car.

Again...
The new paint scheme Hobby Grade car in the back.
First Edition Hobby Grade in the front.
Note the front window and rear window areas on the new car. SHORTER - taller windows on the First Edition. Longer more sloped windows on the new car. Note the lack of the black band at the bottom of the front windsheild. Rear window is not as rounded at the bottom either as it was on the First Edition HG car. Rear Side windows are longer as well. Different "window net" Another view of the spoiler showing it is a tic higher. Several sponsor changes. NEW paint looks great. Gas "cap" on the First Edition and none on the newer body style. The gas filler area on the New JJ car is sunken in like the real race car.

First Edition Hobby Grade in the back.
Another view of the rear side windows that are longer. Slight difference in moldings in the centers of the windows too. Different "window net"

Okay.. is this a mold mistake? or did someone forget to add the rest of the black rear window reinforcing on the new body style?. Not to mention, the whole rear of the car is now all "filled in" New car also has a "bulbing out" between the taillights. SLIGHTLY resembles the rear of the Toyota Team-up Michael Waltrip car body for the Napa Car. Note the rear taillights are different sizes and thicker, taller spoiler. Narrower roof on the new body style?
First Edition Base version
I have a front ,back and top panel picture of the First Edition Base Version, (Foam Padded Chassis), Jeff Gordon box here below. Note the box printing differences from the Hobby Grades. Not only the printing is different these Rc cars will not drive the same as Hobby Grades.
Note the back of this box shows the foam padded chassis. The remote controller is IN FRONT of the car in the pacakge, Not the top where the other versions are. The "120" is in RED on the front lower Left
Second Edition Base Version
I have a front view and a partial front picture of the Second Edition Base Version, (Full Plastic Chassis), Jeff Gordon box here below. Note the box printing differences from the First Edition Base Version and Hobby Grades. Not only the printing is different these Rc cars will not drive the same as Hobby Grades.
Note the back of this box shows the full plastic chassis. The remote controller is ON TOP of the box in the pacakge, like where the Hobby Grade versions are. Note the front lower left corner of this box shows the "120" is in BLUE on the front lower left.
2nd Edition Base version (above) But this is what a Hobby Grade Chassis will look like also, unless you turn it over and check for the "alignment arrow" on the bottom of the chassis.
Hobby Grade, First Edition Base version, Second Edition Base Version Chassis comparisions
I have here, left to right, the Hobby Grade Chassis, First Edition Base version (foam padded chassis). The Second Edition Base version chassis will be a full plastic chassis, similar to the "Hobby Grade" chassis, but with their own unique differences.
Hobby Grade Chassis (above) First Ed. Bv Foam Padded Chassis
Hobby Grade Chassis (above) First Ed. Bv Foam Padded Chassis
(no manual alignment arrow) (has the manual alignment arrow)
I have here, left to right, the Hobby Grade Chassis, First Edition Base version (foam padded chassis). The Second Edition Base version chassis will be a full plastic chassis, (not shown) similar to the "Hobby Grade" chassis, but with a manual alignment arrow between the front wheels just like the F.E.B.v chassis.
Now here, left to right, below, the First Edition Base version Jeff Gordon #24 (foam padded chassis) and then the Hobby Grade version Jeff Gordon #24. See the lower black "riveted look" valance? That "lower look" on the Foam padded versions look more like a real race car. The body shell on these fits "over" the foam padding. Hobby Grades have a bumper edge that protects the body shell and the body shell sits on top of the bumper.
First Ed. Bv Foam Padded Chassis
Hobby Grade Chassis (above)
But this is what a 2nd Edition Base version will look like also, unless
you turn it over and check for the "alignment arrow" on the bottom of
the chassis.
Do you notice the differences now?
"Hobby Grade" Features are :
Digital proportional steering (variable steering), which means you can turn the transmitter wheel slightly and the car turns a little. Turn the transmitter wheel alot and the car turns alot. Variable speed control this means you pull back on the trigger a little the car moves a little, pull back on the trigger all the way and the car takes off! This also works for reverse gear as well.
Multiple Interchangeable Frequencies
Each "Hobby Grade" Rc car has their own dedicated frequency. ALL 6 cars, 1 of EACH DIFFERENT DRIVER the series of cars you can race at the same time. WOW !
